STOA is an architecture firm based between Bern and Neuchâtel. A human, exacting team, driven by a simple conviction: architecture is built with people, for people. TWKS supported STOA through a complete overhaul of its identity, with a clear mission: finally give this philosophy a visual form that matches it.
By humans, for humans
Everything starts there. A brand that is human and inspiring, expert and rigorous, playful and structured. Three balances that, on paper, seem contradictory. In STOA's work, they coexist naturally. The identity had to do the same.
Construction
The idea: a dynamic, adaptable system that draws on the aesthetics of architecture and design, with the flexibility needed to live across both digital and print. Four founding shapes, curves, square, circle, triangle, become the brand's visual vocabulary. A language of construction, quite literally. You assemble, combine, build.
The typography follows the same logic. Klarheit Kurrent, a Swiss typeface, geometric, with characteristic incised cuts. A direct echo of modernism and engineering standards, while keeping a human touch. Exactly the balance the project called for.
A palette rooted in the real
The colours aren't chosen. They're taken. Warm light, cream white, grey wood, nature green, tile red: each tone comes straight from the materials and places STOA shapes. Concrete, ceramic, brick, metal, sustainability. The brand doesn't talk about architecture. It's made of it.
A logotype that stands
STOA. Four letters, a clean geometry, a name that evokes Greek architecture, the colonnade, the gathering place. The new logotype asserts that presence: solid, stable, but never rigid. It carries across every format, from construction site hoarding to tote bag, without ever losing its strength.
Results
A complete identity system, built to last and to adapt to every project, every competition, every format. A brand that speaks of architecture without needing to illustrate it.
