Gyros — Branding by twks: It's not a kebab. It's a Gyros.

Everyone says "Greek" when ordering a kebab. Except a Greek is a Gyros. The brand is born from this confusion, and corrects it without a word of explanation. Not by explaining. By stating.
TWKS built the Gyros identity around a simple conviction: an honest product deserves an honest brand. No marketing promise, no polished storytelling. Just what's in the plate, said as it is.
A strategy born from a misunderstanding
The starting point isn't a product. It's a word. In everyday language, "a Greek" almost always means a kebab. A confusion so embedded, no one questions it anymore. The brand strategy turns that ambiguity into a positioning: Gyros doesn't explain the difference, it embodies it. The brand name becomes the argument. Not a slogan to learn, a fact to notice.
The language of the label
The visual identity draws directly from traceability labels. From producer to consumer, no detours. Every ingredient is listed, sourced, dated, just like on quality packaging. The chef becomes the final operator: assembling, layering, adding the secret sauce. No more, no less. Transparency isn't a selling point. It's the product itself.
A brutalist system, like the spit
The spit turns, the layers stack, the product builds itself vertically, layer after layer, with no artifice. The graphic system mirrors that movement: stacked blocks, oversized typography, a grid that doesn't try to charm anyone. Brutalist, because the product is. Fat, meat, bread, sauce. No decoration where none is needed.
Results
An identity that corrects a language error while building a brand. A visual system drawn directly from product traceability, turning transparency into a graphic signature. A brand that isn't trying to be anything other than a gyros. And says so.
